How to Switch Off and Turn On iPhone, iPad Without The Power Button

Now it is an obvious fact that a phone can be switched on and off using a power button. There are many factors that can let the power button on an iPhone go out of order. The reasons can be humidity or dust. Evidently you may not require switching off the phone ever but it is a better option to know the alternatives to power on your smartphone without any delays. The phone virtually works on a single button, and you can navigate through the menu and the side buttons for sound are well-known features.

When the phone has got its power button damaged, then you may wonder that how to switch off and turn on iPhone and iPad without its use. The way is simple and a matter of few steps:

  • Go to the Settings option and open it

  • There is an Accessibility option to select the General Sub-option over there

  • From there tap on the Assistive Touch that you can find under Interaction

  • While on the next screen toggle the Assistive Touch option to the green on position

  • You will see a white circle with a grey box on the screen once done with the step. Tap the circle, and you will see that the same expands to a big box on the screen

  • There you will find the option Device, tap it

  • After doing the previous step, tap and hold Lock Screen until the power icon appears on the screen. In case there is confusion it is red and white ain color

  • The screen has an option that says slide to power off

  • Slide it to turn the power off.

  • To turn the phone back, the process is simple. Take the phone and put it to charging on a USB cord. A white screen appears with a logo of Apple.

  • Remove the phone from the charger, and the phone turns on.

The process comes in handy when you are looking at turning the phone on and off while the power button is damaged.
